Who we are and the Island

 Hi There!

This is us. A family of five that moved from Ontario to Prince Edward Island, Canada. We took a giant leap of faith, and left all of our family and friends to farm pigs, raise kids and make a go of it on our own. Just like it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes a community to establish a new home. We quickly integrated ourselves in the local Christian School and church; and connected with neighbors. My husband’s name is Joel, he is the farmer. Our eldest is Grace, she is our inventor, Rose is our artist and Reuben is our very caring and lovable son. We do our best to show our children that God loves them and pray that they will reciprocate. We also strive to instill good morals and work ethic, with a healthy dose of fun.

Prince Edward Island is a province in Atlantic Canada. It boasts of a lot of beauty, not just the scenery, but also of it’s cultural diversity. It hails it’s self as the food province of Canada, and who can deny that with all of the fruits of the sea, fresh fruit and veg, and wide variety of meats, cheeses and wines. I look forward to sharing this with you. These photos were take for the PEI Federation of Agriculture 2017 calendar, you can follow this link to read more of our profile.

Throughout this whole move and establishment I was somehow able to continue to quilt. I finish most quilts on my HQ Infinity. I really enjoy the creative process of adding another dimension to a flat quilt top. I have also been able to keep up with different events and shows that Handi Quilter has invited me to attend. I dearly miss the ladies at the Oxford Quilter’s guild in Ingersoll, Ontario, but have made new wonderful friends that come regularly to my studio for a time of quilting and supporting each other in our lives.

Thank you for stopping by!
